UV sterilizers come in both in-line and hang on varieties so you wouldn't need to have a canister filter.

This is probably what i would do as well. I've never run pressurized co2 before as i tend to go low tech on my tanks but I would seriously consider building a regulator with found money.

I think you might have misread my stocking I actually have 14 fish. 12 Mbuna and 2 Featherfin Synos. I am definitely not overstocked but I wouldn't say my bioload is itty bitty.

Yep all of the "aquatic combo" plants tend to be terrestrial and most of the tube plants they sell are also terrestrial. However there are a few that they sell in the tubes that are actually aquatic....
