Put a few slices in at night and see whats left the next day. Personally i'd overfeed to make sure the fry get enough. You'll have to remove the leftovers the next day anyway to keep the water...

You can put lots of tetras in a 50g. I have over 20 tetras and a dozen cories in a 55g (and 30-40 cherry shrimp).
