ive been using the ada check valve that comes in their co2 parts set. it's 12 bucks for the set, you get the valve, silicone tubing and suction cups, worth it for the valve alone.

Is the intake to the filter a siphon? You're going to run into an issue sooner or later, the flow is going to be variable and you'll either overflow the sump or drain it.

I would never build my own LED light again, it's not worth it. You end up saving a bit of money, but you can barely resell it for 25% of what you paid to build it. Might as well get an AI vega color...
