As for Opae Ula, they only need salt/brackish to breed. I kept some in freshwater for years, and so have several others.

Mangroves will grow and thrive in freshwater. Black mangrove is the easiest to keep trim and small, it's not too big for your setup, but I'd limit it to one. I've grown them for several years now....
