Floating riccia works well for my endlers. I've also got lots of moss through out the tank. Having something floating at the top is also helpful during feedings.

I do too! I do one tank a day so it doesn't feel like work. The process of changing the water, trimming plants, and other maintenance is a good destresser for me.

My endlers are not cannibalistic either so I wouldn't rely on the adults for population control. You should be fine filterless as long as you're keeping a consistent eye on your water params.

As everyone said, cycle first then add livestock. Once you've cycled the tank, add the ghosties, give them time to settle in, then add your betta. I've found that adding the more docile inhabitents...
