Crushed coral eh. I might have to look into that. All my snails slowly died off and I think it was due to too little TDS. Even their shells disappeared within a few months.

I haven't checked my CO2 levels in over a year. Just eye balled the bubble rate and watch the fish. The plants will grow and choke up the whole tank in about 2-3 months if I don't do heavy pruning....

Maybe go with a coarse sand or fine gravel substrate. You want to avoid too fine a substrate. Osmecote Plus will eventually end up on the substrate surface as little resin balls. You can ignore them...
