I think it's a combo of your warmer temps...

I think it's a combo of your warmer temps (probably spiking in the day when the sun is out), and your high ph.

That combo can cause low oxygen, and bacteria to really grow that can aren't so...

Putting them in the fridge or blanching them looses a lot of the vitamins within. I put small pieces and just let them finish...

One magnet goes on the inside of the tank (attached to whatever you'd like to hold) and the other goes on the outside off the tank/glass. It will hold it in place, similar to those magnet glass...

Let the water get stable.... I've noticed water changes are not required to keep them alive. I just top off my tank with RO & supplement the water every other top off (which is usually once a week)....
