Nice re-scape. Love the twisty branchy wood too. Good to see you still kickin' it. I've lost my fervor as of late for tank keeping and a new tank or re-scape might just be what the doctor ordered.

This amount of light on a 10 gallon can be done... I definitely wouldn't recommend it for a second or even third planted tank.

Hang in there with the hair algae. It seems to be the one I get during almost every "new" tank setup. Once things settle in it should subside... granted having the light on for an extra 8 hours...

Pretty sure you just slice, boil, cool, then weight the slice down with something. I got in the habit over the summer of tossing in a boiled dandelion every few weeks (something DK mentioned doing)...

Thats too bad man! I have to agree about a standard soil layout being a big easier. Plain sand bottom tanks for me seem to take several more months to balance out and stabilize.

Thanks! I hope it turns out ok. I think the biggest thing is going to be finding the sweet spot for the light so I get good pellia growth without promoting algae.
