I have a single T8 over my 20 gal & have 2 types of crypts (lutea & spiralis), micro sword, red sword, anubis, java fern, hygrophila & bolbitis.

I'd have done a much better job if I had a tool like that.

The plant in the middle kind of looks like a sword of some sort.

I left my 6 gal up w/ a few snails & java ferns so I would have a decent QT.

It's great for oto's - lot's of algae just waiting for them...

I was squeamish about squishing them but got over it (mostly).

Nice! Glad you got the pics up.

A rock would look great. I like it better w/o all the floating plants. It looks less cluttered & we can see the beautiful betta.

It depends on the personality (& betta's have an amazing amount of personality!)

They tend to pick on other critters & will happily eat anything small...
