+1. Wisteria or anacharis would be my choice. Pennywort is also a really fast grower. Any kind of floater- dwarf water lettuce or salvinia minima.

I did my paludarium with foam sheets as well. I chose to use drylok finished with spray can sealant. Has worked well for over a year. The pygmy corys and rcs keep breeding and the plants grow.

Agreed. Anubias doesn't seem to do well in substrate. It's more like an underwater epiphyte. Tie it to a rock or to driftwood.

Seachem Prime will lock up the ammonia so it's not so toxic to shrimp. Some mulm from an established tank will help speed your cycle if you have access to one.
