I would think you could do well with a pair of the planted+ model. I'm not an expert on lighting, but I'm going based on the fact your tank is so deep it would work.

I personally think you could do 4-5 khuli loaches, at least the black ones anyway (I read somewhere they stay smaller). After that you'd probably be kinda limited adding much else.

Yeah, cutting back on the amount of light would be a big help. I have the same size tank (guessing 2.5) with the same light. Before I added floaters I was having a heck of a time managing algae.
