Use a half dosage of Quick Cure with tetras, catfish, and scaleless fish. Salt isn't needed (certain catfish and tetras can have an adverse reaction to elevated levels of salt) plus it kills plants....

Cap first, slowly fill up water about a third to half way up, plant, then fill the rest of the tank.
