Looks like a Borneo fern - Trichomanes javanicum. Not a true aquatic, but it does make a good plant for a high-humidity terrarium setup.

Maybe call them "Tobiano Tigers" instead? "Tectonic Plate Tigers" is a bit wonky :P "Tobiano" fits with the horse theme you started with "Appaloosa" and rolls off the tongue a bit more easily ;)

I just use Ken's veggie sticks with calcium. Easy to get, easy to drop in the tank, and snails love it. :) As do my shrimp. And plecos. And mollies.
