A horrible picture, and worse hardscape

Despite how the picture looks, the water is clear. I'm really not a fan of this 10,000k bulb at all. I'm going to replace it soon.

Rotala macranda/R. macranda 'Japan Red'

Strange question from a newbie, but are there any differences between the regular Rotala macranda and the 'Japan red" form and if so what are they?

Thank you! :D
I'm kind of learning as I go. So far the only problems I've had are slower growth along the sides. I lost a couple species out of my Hygro collection from that.

Going hightech but still can't aquascape

Planted tanks are proving addicting. I mean really, really addicting. So today I took the plunge and ordered my first CO2 regulator. Wish me luck, since I'm nervous about gassing all my fish. First...

Dumb question and would this light work for me

I'm giving some serious thought to upgrading my low tech tank to high tech. Random newbie question- does extra light bother fish? Growing plants is amazingly fun, but the fish are still my top...

Thanks for the answer. For the moment I seem to be nicely balanced. I phrased my question kind of stupid now that I re-read it. You still answered though. I had been thinking more in terms of...

DIY or pressurized?

I've had my tank set up for four and a half months now and proved some things to myself. Namely that I do have a bit of a green thumb, maintaining a fertilizing schedule isn't hard, and that plants...
