Thanks all. If there is a leak, I have not been able to find it. I will try a different bottle when the ones I am waiting on show up. I will also try reducing the amount of sugar in the mix.

From my limited experience I think boiling water is not needed. All I do is rinse mine with hot tap water. I then let them air dry.

I do use Amquel on the water I put in the bottle.

I do not like the idea of puting the CO2 into the filter intake. Pump cavitation is noisy, and not really all that good for the pump.

My tank is 38 gallons. My co2 generator is made from a 1 gallon plastic jug, which is currently plumbed into the venturi of a power head. The output of the power head is going straight into the tank.
