I have never added medication for ich. If you raise the temp and do a few daily water changes. Making sure your tank has extra clean water, the ich ussually goes away on its own.

As was said before your fish should be fine for up to a week. I highly recommend not using those plaster turtle "feeder" things. They disolve and can mess with your water chemistry.
