Wouldnt it be worse for the bulb not the ballast, because all of the power now is going into the one bulb or am I way off?

Yeah they are on a single cord. I do know how to wire and I am sure that I could do it, just wanted to see really if anyone has done something like that before.

Is there a way to rewire or possibly put a small switch in the fixture somewhere so that I could turn off one bulb in the fixture? as it is now, of course, if I take a bulb out both go out.

1. 5500k to 10000k, what does that number mean, I thought it meant intensity, but some bulbs have LOW wattage and higher K number?

Unless i find a stand that they are pretty much giving away, i wont buy it. I can build my own! Either wood stand or weld up a steel one, either way, i am sure i can make one cheaper than buying it.
