I have had flourite in tanks with cories...no issues with sand or gravel..

I think water quality has more to do with barbel infections then substrates...

edta is just a chelate..Its a an acid used to...

edta is just a chelate..Its a an acid used to make iron etc...usuable to plants..

The mix your using is possibly has edta as a chelate as well..If not it has some sort of chelate..so no worries...

Its fine to use but if your tank has a low bio load i'd also recommend using macro's..Seachems line also contains...
