So its just sand as the substrate then? Sand is inert and will not hold fertilizers the way a substrate with high CEC will. Basically you need to root feed your swords and the water column as well.

Any plant you like except for the typical carpeting plants. The plants simply grow slower with low light. So all you need is patience , which is tough for many of us...lol
