Hi,

The light that came with the wife's fluval ebi was the pcl-11.
Tonight the clear plastic clamp broke due to fatigue.

I don't see a problem with that?
Am I missing the point?!

The idea is you want non limiting ferts at ALL times.

This would make more sense :-

Sun w/c. Macro
Mon micro

I didn't get along with this method too well. It created MASSIVE airlocks in my fx5. So much so that co2 wasn't getting into the tank until it created the airlock(presumably when it had no other...

Yes. It should go after a while that's assuming your ammonia disappears!

Most filter media ends up becoming a bio filter but some are more efficient than others.

Have you got enough bio media...

I just took another ammonia test with the api kit.

Once again it came out somewhere above zero but not quite the 0.25 scale.

I still stand by what I said earlier. I'll take that as a zero.

Well... I change about 70% weekly and mine still shows a slight tinge of ammonia.
So with that and what I've read by others I take this as my baseline. I.E nil.

Funny enough I was recently reading an article about air stones and it mentioned all it does is move water.

So even still I'll try that and use the fx5 once again solely for...

What it is I've recently added more light.
I went from 2 54w t5 to 3.

Bear in mind though the tubes are 3ft and the tank is 5 ft 100 gallons(so they are staggered)

The 3rd tube I brought to...

If I used less Co2 I would have to cut the light because I would be Co2 deficient.

I believe I have (up until the air stone) a severe o2...

Ok thanks.

The problem is if I dose less Co2 I would have to cut back on light and my aim is to have a high tech tank.

The 'canopy' also doubles as my lighting system.

air stones (o2) in conjunction with co2

Hi,

Is it THAT terrible to have an air stone going whilst injecting co2?

Reason why I ask is because my aquarium has a glass lid with a wooden canopy on top.

Which causes trouble getting o2...

Hi,

Your aquarium isn't getting all the fertilisers it needs either.
You need n,p,k and micros.

That's fine :)

But concentrate on the rest of the ferts.

Plants need all these ferts to grow well.

If any is missing then others don't get used/utilised.

Is your no2 really 2ppm after 4 months?!
If so something is wrong there. It should surely be 0 by now.

Also your level of phosphate should be higher. Which is likely your problem with the...

How long is your photo period. Does it need cutting for the time being?

Since you have no fauna (which quite rightly you shouldnt) I would slow down on the water changes, allowing your levels to peak.
Also I would keep your photo period as is for a little while longer.
