I believe I read somewhere there are shrimp breeders that use bonsai soil, in Japan maybe. It's not something I've ever seen anyone on here try however. Google It!

I would go with the Cadlights Zen series....

I would go with the Cadlights Zen series. Affordable high clarity rimless tanks, I believe they come with a glass lid as well. 3g, 5g, 7g, and 11g if I remember correctly.

Awesome wood piece!!! I say if you don't use the moss, tall background plants would accent the piece for sure. Something green in or around the wood will make it look even more beautiful and natural.

The light is held above the tank by an adjustable arm. When mounted on the rim of the tank, you can really only lower it as much as the arm allows. The light isn't too expensive, I would pick it up...

I think the Kuhli's will get too big for this tank, and I wouldn't mix them with nicer shrimp. The kuhli's I've kept have gotten bigger than I'd like to keep in a tank this small.

Mark, some people are doing frosted white backgrounds. ADA actually makes tanks that have frosted backgrounds I believe. That is an option. I think a solid white background might not make them feel...
