From what I've read it is actually rather inert as in it contains no nutrients. Flourite is fracted clay and supposed to be good for its ability to capture nutrients and retain them for plant roots...

I assume you are using a ceramic in tank diffuser . If so, I don't think you will ever get 100% diffusion. You will need an inline diffuser. More specifically an inline co2 reactor.

I agree. Probably not as big off a problem a you think, considering the whole tank itself is a bio filter as well. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
