Ok so I took the filter media out of my 5g and put it into my 10g filter. Will this cycle it immediately? Since my 5 is stocked more than my 10?

Ok but I have had the tank set up for at least 2 months now. It is heavily planted and has some snails in it now that seem to be fine. So will the shrimp survive?
