it should be a direct swap. alternatively you could trim the impeller "wings" but if its not done right, it will cause the impeller to be unbalanced...

i used this filter on some of my nano reefs for a year or two...its a decent filter, the pump is adjustable, its just a pain to get to/get out....

also, if you have trouble with it sucking air...
