That's a pretty bright light. I'd drop your photoperiod to about 8 hours. You don't mention if you're using fertilizers or CO2.

I never got habrosus fry because my female Apistogramma cacatuoides went on a cory hunt and destroy mission when she laid her first batch of eggs. So fry aren't the only danger with Apistos.
