Yeah, I'd heard otos enjoy company, though they don't necessarily school.

Will definitely skip the yoyo loaches then, I don't want to bother the rams. Probably the prettiest fish I've ever owned....

Could anyone tell me what kind of snails these are? A couple came in with the plants I bought from thatfishplace.com, and since they didn't seem to be doing any harm to the plants I let them be. Now...

Yeah, I kinda figured it'd be too good to be true. ;) Worth a shot, though. I was hoping to find something at a decent price that didn't require modifications, but I guess that's a pipe dream.

Question Would this wire shelving unit be strong enough?

Haven't posted here in ages..in my defense, I've had some major algae problems, so my tank hasn't been anything to brag about. :hihi:

So anyway, I was going to upgrade my 5.5 gal to a 10 gal,...

Wow, how is that a 5-6 gallon tank? Nice choice in driftwood, and the positioning of the camera; that really makes the tank look huge.

Very nice. I used black posterboard for my diy hood as well, hopefully it doesn't catch fire. :icon_roll

I really like how you designed little terraces in the substrate. Hopefully it will stay in...

Here are two pics of the tank. Sparx didn't want to cooperate, apparently; you can see him hiding in the back right corner in the first pic. Kind of a hodgepodge of plants, as I didn't know what I...

Thanks for the advice guys. I decided to just go with the 5.5 gallon, and let the betta have his own little kingdom. Spent the better part of today setting up the tank, putting together a (diy) light...

Stocking 10 Gallon Betta tank

I'm planning on upgrading my betta from a 3 gallon to a 5 gallon (by himself) or 10 gallon (with other fish), and I was wondering what to choose as tank mates. I've been searching the web for the...

:icon_eek: They're back, with a vengeance. Eesh..the survivors and what I'm guessing are offspring (as they're smaller and not as darkly colored). Moved Sparx into an old tank for now. Wish I had...

I've noticed them from time to time in my tank, but I still have no idea what they are or how to kill them. I usually just use a turkey baster to remove them. :icon_lol:

However, when I went to...

Lol! And see, I was going to half-jokingly say when I posted the pic, "No specific name was given, who knows, maybe it's not even a sword at all." Heh. Some days I really hate chain pet stores. Don't...

Unfortunately I don't know exactly which kind of sword it is, as it was just listed as "Assorted Sword." Probably shouldn't have bought it when I had no scientific name to research, but it was a bit...

I'll try to keep the frill plants well trimmed from now on, and see if that makes the difference. I hadn't realized until I did the replanting how well they had been growing.

I thought that might...

Myriophyllum scabratum - 'fronds' withering away

I'm having some trouble with my Myriophyllum scabratum; I believe that's the scientific name for the plant. I bought it at Petsmart, where it was labelled as "Frill." The tops of the plants look nice...
