Although Cynobacteria isn't an algae. Has anyone tried treating it with Glute. I am hesitant to throw Ethyromiacin at it. Experimenting now with glute.

Depends on your fish load. If you have a low bio load, then the plants are probably utilizing most of the nitrates.

I'm using the same filters. Tank is crystal clear always. I modified the returns so they were so strong. The filters are a breeze to service.:wink:

I haven't used Osmocote+ tabs before. How often do you add them to the substrate, after initial placement. All tanks are medium/heavily planted high light, CO2 injected, and PPs Pro fertilized.

Alt. Reinekii mini is a nice small plant. Some rotalas would work. If kept trimmed, they will branch out. Limno Repens Mini is another that might work. It will red up if kept in the right conditions.

Diatoms are cause by high Silicate in the water. You could test your tap water to see what the Silicate content is. To reduce it you can use RO water, or try one of the silicate/phosphate removers....

You can take the top few inches from the plant, and replant the tops. Ludwigia grow relatively fast. In a few weeks you'll be overrun with it.LOL

I use Aqueon Pro heaters. They have been working for several years without a problem. The only drawback with them is they are off a couple of degrees between the set temp., and the actual temp.
