Your plants will be ok either way but remember it's a tight balancing act between co2, lighting and nutrients thus lowering your light intensity along with taking away co2 is the most common practice...

High tech to low tech

Complete do over on my 40g tall tank from high light with co2 to low tech shaded light no co2

Can't keep up on how fast it gets overgrown and it being a 40 tall, it's a pain reaching in to do...
