I had the Hydor inline, it did last something like 2 years and stop functionning. Since then i have Eheim Jaegers but in the tank. I wait for outside heaters which are more reliable.

I use pothos for years, not the plant immerged, the leaves will rot, but only the roots in the tank. The roots grow to the point where they reach the bottom of the tank if i do not trim them...

Floating plants are good against green water, they reduce light and can shade the whole tank in 2-3 weeks, competionning the green water for light and nutrients.
