Sorry it Took me so long to answer but yes that is without excel or co2. Hemanthius M. Appears to thrive without co2 but does need medium lighting to carpet.

I also have buce growing on wood. It did seem like it took a while for the roots to stick. From what others here are saying it seems that they attach more quickly to rock.. Hmm

That bottom crypt is a beauty. The picture makes your lighting look fairly low however. What kind of carpet plant is that under the crypt? Looks like dwarf baby tears that isn't getting enough light.

I'm actually unfamiliar with the CEC of ecocomplete. I believe it is most likely the plants though. If eco absorbed some nitrates though I doubt the absorption would be so extreme.
