Try a phal; you can get them at Walmart for like $10 or less. Not too hard, just don't overwater, and make sure you use a terracotta pot (they rot in plastic, not enough air movement) and orchid...

Indeed. What happens is the same as what happens with fluourescents. If you have a lot of LED's there are so many lines of reflection and refraction (ie, shimmer lines) that they essentially cancel...
