I like them also and the plants seem to as well. I switched from Giesemann Middays which were a bit too yellow for me. The greens seem to have a bit more pop with the Hagen which I like.

It's worth a try. It's an effective method as long as your canister can handle it as Wasser mentions above. I can't speak for an Eheim classic, but it has been working well with my Eheim 2075.

I have two Eheims and use a white pad in one filter but not in the other. I buy the large rolls of floss from Big Al's and cut my own. It's a lot less expensive than buying Eheim's pads.
