After googling images, it does look like subwassertang. Guess that's why I couldn't find it on any algae-identifying pages.

What is this stuff? I've never heard of it, nor did I introduce it...

I am in the midst of breaking down a 37G I've had planted before, but has been mostly empty for the last year. Going to empty the tank and start new on a 20g long.

The tank is mostly empty except...

Marineland Ensemble 60-gallon stand not supporting in front

I bought their Brooklyn stand. Put it together and that thing sure is sturdy. I put 800 lbs on it just to test it. I'll be setting my tank up this weekend and starting to cycle it.

Won't be a...

Marineland Ensemble 60-gallon stand not supporting in front

Only reason I'm not getting 75g now is because my living situation is short term. I'd really like to set up sonething in the range of 120+ gallons when I get settled in the next year. Pricing out...

Marineland Ensemble 60-gallon stand not supporting in front

I ended up keeping the tank. But in looking for a new stand. Honestly I love the tank. Black silicone and its frontal dimension look appealing to me.

Stand is now a bookshelf. I'd build a stand,...

Yes, it was a legit question

My reason for asking was purchasing a new tank and noticing the stand supports all 4 corners, but has a CD thick gap on the front edge meaning 3 sides and 4 corners...

Does a tank only need to be supported by the 4 corners?

Lets just say you had 4 hockey pucks and put one under each corner of a 75gal aquarium on a perfectly level concrete slab. All 4 pucks...

I'm not as concerned with weight as i was leakage. The location for the tank is right up against an exterior load-bearing wall perpendicular to the joists. My condo building is 5 years old, and the...

Marineland Ensemble 60-gallon stand not supporting in front

I'm kinda leaning 75gal. It's got the dimensions I want.

Little hesitant due to the weight, but I looked into this with the 60 and felt it was ok. What's 15 more gallons right? (And a bit more...

That's just it. I don't think the arch is properly inserted. The entire front facade is loose. I can see dovetail joints without glue. The cabinets can move up and down. The horizontal rail under the...

Would you worry about this chip in my corner?

I would, except I bought the last one and have to ask a friend to take it for me since it doesn't fit in my car.

So if I return it, I'll need to find something else.

I think I'm being...

Would you worry about this chip in my corner?

It's just a chip. Holding a bright light on the side shows the outline is limited to what you see. It's nowhere near the silicone at all.

I'm probably being paranoid as searching the net reveals...
