Are you using hard or soft water in your tank? Cardinals prefer soft/acidic water... hard water causes them to get mineral build up in their organs and die of kidney failure.

Oh I meant how long is the life of the leds. Other led light fixtures say things like 17,000 hours or 40,000 hours, but I couldn't find that info on this light.

I'd recommend keeping all your plants in place...

I'd recommend keeping all your plants in place with the water level 2- 3 inches. Keeping the plants in place should give the babies something to hang out on/in so if your gravel does shift they won't...

Looks like a Rotalia, maybe Indica or Rotundafolia(sp?). Maybe they had to tie the stems on the wood or put some type of material, like a pad of coconut husk for it to root in.
