Ramshorn snails seem to out-compete them. I used to have pond snails in a ten gallon until I got some ramshorns.. then they gradually disappeared. Ramshorns don't eat plants, personally I like them.

If they are pond snails, they will eat your plants. If they are ramshorn snails they will be safe. Personally I like my ramshorns. HATE pond snails though.
Lots of fish eat snails besides loaches...
