T5HO fixture takes multiple "fires" to turn on

Hi guys

I have a T5HO fixture, aquaticlife double.

Is the ballast broken? I have to turn the light switch on and off multiple times to get the bulbs to turn on.

Does white sand get dirty?

Hi guys

Just wondering if white sand is tedious to maintain. If I use it for a planted tank, does it stain or turn yellow/green from algae?

I'm looking for it to be perfectly white.

Thx

Holy cow this tank is on-point. Very well done. The sloping of the sand is done brilliantly. The stones point outwards and the sand points towards the middle.

Just curious if anybody runs a large tank with a diffuser, no reactor.

Manzanita Tree branches - bark still on?

Hello

Are both types of Manzanita branches safe to use in an aquarium? I've used the sand blasted kind (first photo) but never used ones with the bark still on (second pic).

Anybody?

Thanks...

Thanks for the response. I might invest couple hours to plant it properly then.

I just planted it right before I took the photo. It was removed from the sellers tank and sat for about 2 days.
