You could use a sponge filter. I use them in all of my 10s. To me a power filter would be overkill unless you have a very heavy bioload or have fish that need a strong current.

A 4" acutirostre should be fine with 2 1/2 to 3" ansorgii. I wouldn't get very active dither fish, though, since ansorgii are very deliberate eaters & may not get enough food.

Apistogramma agassizi. They're awsome! I bred them in a 10 gallon with a substrate of oak leaves. They're not picky eaters - flake is eagerly accepted, but they need soft water to breed.
