Riccia causing deficiencies

Is it possible that my riccia,which started to grow very large, has been sucking up the nutrients in my tank and in turn causing other plants to suffer

Diatoms went and away but came back for two days...

Diatoms went and away but came back for two days but seem to be going away again.
I removed the DHG on the right and have added some riccia that is growing out.

Place some rocks on them or tie rocks onto them...

Place some rocks on them or tie rocks onto them with fishing line. After they get water logged you can remove the rocks or leave them in if they look good.

I'm kind of thinking about a blackwater type set up but instead of tanning just a lot of floaters to keep the tank darker. Maybe a little bit of tannins would be fine too.
