Its a good idea keep the pregnant shrimp in a breeder box, you don't want your fish to eat the offspring once they hatch, but definitely put something in it like pvc or anything the pregnant shrimp...

i would suggest getting a pre-filter sponge though, its a bit of a pain breaking up the shrimp party under the filter media every morning
