I run 1 bulb for 8 hours and the other bulb kicks on 1 hr 1/2 after first one comes on then turns off 1 1/2 before it turns off. Basically trying to mimic natural daylight.

No I believe the algae in his thread is different. That type looks more like a fungus, I also had that one on my hc till it slowly killed it off .

This one is more brown and green in some areas...

9 hrs lights.. 10 hrs co2. I kick the co2 on two hours b4 lights turn on and it shuts off a hour b4 they turn off.

This way when lights go on co2 is already well distributed around the tank. Works...

Yea I actually like the red too but I assumed it was signs of stress considering the two died last week and turned red after dying. The reason I think those died was I showed 0.25ppm of ammonia.....
