First off, don't put them in with a betta fish. Amano shrimp sometimes eat dwarf shrimp also. That's not a good idea at all.

And yes, you should feed them.

No planaria works. I did have some shrimp deaths after using it though. I find it hard to believe you could catch all the planaria in a tramp. Also, feed the shrimp in a dish.
