You also need wood that will support the weight with correct joinery used to maximize strength. Using a tongue and dado will be stronger than a simple butt joint for example.

No way would I trust it to hold a tank that size. And it's not just because of the feet. There's not enough strength in that cabinet.

I doubt a fired clay is going to add much of anything to the situation. I've got tons of them and the dirt comes off pretty easy. Raw clay may be a different story. BTW...
