I feed my shrimp in true college fashion, when I remember that I haven't fed them in a while I drop some fancy shrimp food in there. The baby foods and vigor get sprinkled in the tank every few days....

I dont see dropping a tds meter and shrimp dying as a likely link. I drop my digital thermometer in the tank a bit too often and have yet to see any dead crs. Haven't dropped my tds meter in the tank...

if the wallet lets you fully stock your tank and it is already cycled you can go ahead. Most people want to start with as little as they can but I prefer to start with a nice colony to get them...
