The plants are lobelia cardinalis dwarf variety. They grow extremely slow, and stay relatively short but are a nice contrast to many other plants.

I had a negative experience with magenta also....
I had a negative experience with magenta also. Mine disintegrated in a matter of weeks even with ample co2, light, macro and micronutrients. I think it prefers soft water....
