I am going to try some red root floaters for some light filtering. In the mean time I placed a couple of pieces of drywall over parts of the tank in a effort to reduce the light until plants arrive.

Thanks! Just keeping it low tech. I have my 55 set up in a similar manor and just use a few flourish tabs and dose with liquid flourish ans excel. I have considered co2 but am just not ready for it.
