I only know of one fairly major importer/supplier in the Seattle area, but his source of discus is Thailand, and the quality of the fish is questionable. I honestly wouldn't recommend that supplier....

But it's exactly the same as what I use - quartz-based # 20 grade silica PFS in white. That's all I use in my tanks. I think you'll love it....

It's due to a lack of cleaning maintenance of the complete impeller housing. It gets clogged up with gunk after a couple of/ a few weeks or so, which prevents it from re-starting after stopping it...
