I would do fire bellied toads but add something to prevent them from getting out. They can certainly escape tanks without lids, if you had a lip to prevent them from climbing out it could work...

A Cichlid tank is really the closest you'll get to a salt water tank as far as overall appearance. Cichlids are all uniform in shape but they're colorful enough to pass for salt water.

The...

Aquariums using Steel Shelving?

Kind of curious here. I finally am realizing my dream of having a fish room.. which will be located in the basement of the house I recently purchased.

Right now I have a 40B, a 20G, and a 10G but...

I wouldn't dose CO2 or fertilizers into an Axie tank. They are pretty sensitive creatures.

Also Axolotls are known to escape from tanks, I would suggest a lid of some sort.

As far as plants? It...

Vallisneria Flowering Out of Control

I have a lot of Vallisneria in my tank, it's been in there for over a year. Out of no where it's starting to shoot up 'flowers' to the surface though. At first it wasn't bad, I would just remove them...

Kind of a small tank, newts are pretty skittish and don't really enjoy being housed with fish.

Amphibians are really best housed in species only tanks, as a rule of thumb.

If you did add fish,...

Current Satellite LED+ user here.

I've thought about moonlight vs no moonlight quite a bit. I have no idea if plants are harmed by being exposed to 'moonlights' or not, though they are certainly...

That remote looks better than the one I received, if I had one issue with this light it's the fact the remote was a little banged up and flimsy. Do they ship with a newer style remote now I wonder?

I would gladly add otos to my tank if I could but the second they hit the water my clawed frogs would be all over them and eaten within 5 minutes tops. They consider anything placed in the tank food...

I've only had obvious cyanobacteria in this tank once. It was when I used to turn my spray bar against the glass to reduce flow in my tank because clawed frogs prefer stagnant water. I learned my...

I run a 36" Current Satellite LED+ and a 24" Ray2 on my 40B and it looks pretty nice.
