How long are you running the light for? The algae may be caused by too long of a photoperiod.

Did your 10G come with a hood? I just use two 6500K CFL bulbs for 6-8 hours a day.

The wood will be stored outside of aquarium use for an undetermined period of time. It has medium amounts of just BBA.


So perhaps a bleach treatment with scrubbing...

Once a week 50% changes is fine. Depends how often you feed it but 50 is good. Never 100%. Just add the new water in slowly and make sure it is the same temperature, or a little bit colder is better...

Go with the dwarf sag. For your setup it'll be the easiest. Your tank being low tech kind of limits your options, but go with the dwarf sag.

In no way do I have the solution, but in my experience, the black stuff and algae on the anubias is from them being in direct light. I think anubias like to be shaded.

Idk about the other stuff....
