I would test or call your city water supply company and ask them for a break down on the city tap water. They should be able to give you accurate readings of gh and kh and ph.

My 29 gallon I keep in the garage. Water temps have gotten as high as 85 degrees with all this heat, but plants and fish seem to tolerate it.

Do nothing. You will get build up of debris regardless. You just need to use a flexible brush and clean them from time to time.
