Also, in addition to what I said above, I agree with the additional comments. I'd get a different breed of fish, or give them more hiding places.

They will warm up to the tank over time, but they are shy fish. They probably feel exposed due to the lack of hiding places as well. I'd expect them to remain somewhat skittish.

For 3 normal sized anbuas nana petite to cover a 1ft by 6inch space, I'd say well over a year in a mid tech tank, and probably a 2-3 years.

Most of them are very expensive (like > $300 expensive). Hoppy (a highly esteemed member here) was making them out of LUX meters and special filters, and then calibrating them with real PAR meters....

Tank dimensions? Maybe build-my-led would be good if you want it custom, or perhaps the ecoxotic series (pending size) if you want high light and custom color blending.
